Alejandro is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Castellano Lab, in the Department of Neuroscience at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he investigates the application of cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying brain rejuvenation to Alzheimer’s disease. His work, funded by the Alzheimer’s Association, focuses on how extracellular matrix remodeling and astrocyte interactions influence amyloid pathology, contributing to our understanding of neurodegenerative processes.
Beyond academia, Alejandro is deeply involved in the biotech innovation ecosystem through Nucleate New York, a nonprofit organization led by academic trainees. As Co-Director of Sponsorships and Partnerships for the New York chapter, he builds collaborations with industry leaders to support educational and entrepreneurial initiatives for scientific entrepreneurs.At Atoll, Alejandro leverages his scientific and strategic expertise to support diligence and investment activities across the biotech and life sciences sectors, helping identify and advance high-impact therapeutic opportunities.
