Lauren Dierdorff is an innovative scientist with expertise at the intersection of neuroscience and biotechnology, dedicated to leveraging scientific advancements to drive biotech innovation and transformative healthcare solutions.

 

Lauren received her Ph.D. in Neuroscience at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai where she conducted translational research in the De Rubeis lab within the Seaver Autism Center for Research and Treatment and Department of Psychiatry. Her work focused on the cortical circuits underlying motor deficits in a model of a rare genetic neurodevelopmental disorder. During her doctoral studies she has received recognitions including a National Institutes of Health (NIH) T32 traineeship (T32HD075735) in Systems and Developmental Biology and Birth Defects, and the Beatrice and Samuel A. Seaver Foundation Predoctoral Fellowship.

 

Beyond academia, Lauren has contributed to the life sciences ecosystem through Nucleate, a nonprofit organization led by academic trainees. In 2024, she served as Education Director for Nucleate’s Business Development 101 (BD101) program in collaboration with Genentech, where she developed and delivered training on key biotech business development topics, including deal processes, asset evaluation, and market analysis. In 2024 she also served as Co-Director of Community and Events for Nucleate’s New York Chapter, fostering collaboration and professional development across the New York biotech community.
