Brianna Berrios
Research Associate
Biotech & Life Sciences
Brianna Berrios is a PhD Candidate at NYU Langone in the Institute for Systems Genetics. Her work investigates the genetic regulation of an evolutionarily conserved gene crucial to proper eye and central nervous system development. Her work is ultimately motivated by learning how genetic information is integrated to obtain a coherent output and how developmental processes can provide insight to regenerative medicines.

Prior to her doctoral studies, Brianna earned dual Bachelor degrees in Biological Engineering and Brain & Cognitive Sciences from MIT. While there, she spent her summers conducting research at premier institutions across the globe working on everything from axonal proteomes and the gut microbiome to the regenerative capabilities of RNA-modifying enzymes. After graduating, she worked at Dana Farber Cancer Institute where she contributed to research in clonal heterogeneity of the bone tumor microenvironment in multiple myeloma.

During her PhD, Brianna developed a deep interest in research commercialization and participated in learning opportunities such as No Patient Left Behind, VC University (scholarship recipient), and Nucleate BD 101 where she gained skills in due diligence, company assessment, and market analysis. She’s subsequently applied those skills as an Analyst for both Endless Frontier Labs and Hexagon VC, and as Co-Director of Community & Events for Nucleate NY.
As a Research Associate with Atoll, she’s keen on combining her strong scientific acumen and business skills to champion innovative companies building the future of healthcare.
